The Kennedy Space Center
Dwight D. Eisenhower signed the Public Law 85-568, starting the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, or NASA, on July 29, 1958. In July 1962, the Launch Operations Center was made on FloridaÕs east coast. It was renamed as the Kennedy Space Center in 1963, for the president who announced that we were going to the moon. The Kennedy Space Center launched the first man to the moon.
